On August 19-20, 2011 we conducted our second annual association-wide DiscipleNOW Weekend for students. Large group rallies were held at Blakely First Baptist Church on Friday and Saturday evenings, and students divided into church groups for 4 small group sessions on Friday night and Saturday. Small groups were led by college students from Columbus State University and Andrew College. Large group worship rallies were led by T.J. Hutto and his praise band, "Three Night Revival", from Piney Grove Baptist Church in Fortson, GA. The Student Drama Team "Arise" from Blakely First Baptist added to our worship experiences with thought-provoking skits each evening. On Saturday morning, students were assigned to 1 of 5 different ministry projects within our associational area, where they helped local residents with tasks such as lawncare, cleaning, and other acts of kindness. One group helped to clear hiking trails in our local state park, and another group did some needed cleaning at a local Pregnancy Resource Center.
We had 62 students and 45 adults from 8 different churches to participate in this life-changing weekend!
