"Christmas Backpacks" Collection Begins at Office

During the five-week period of October 15 through November 14, churches may bring boxed Backpacks that are not designated for a particular ministry site (in Appalachia or SW Georgia) to the Bethel Baptist Association Office in Edison between the hours of 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM on Tuesdays through Thursdays. We will then transport the boxes to the Mallary Association Office in Albany for them to take to a distribution event in Harrogate, Tennessee, just before Christmas. Any extra backpacks that we collect at the office over and above the 250 that we have pledged to this project will be taken to a general Georgia Baptist Convention collection site for use in Appalachia.

 

Backpacks should be packed with suggested items for children, including "The Christmas Story" tract, marked with the appropriate colored ribbons, and packed in standard 18X18X16 moving boxes before bringing them to the Associational Office.
